The Brisbane Tramway Museum brings the past to life with tram rides, historical displays, and passionate volunteers. The Museum is a fully volunteer-run organisation, open every Sunday afternoon (weather-dependent).

Visit us to ride on Brisbane’s preserved trams in a bushland setting. The Museum boasts 6 working trams, dating from 1901 to 1962.

There are many historical items on display, including depot stations, a signal cabin, and photographs over the years. For the history collectors, there is a gift shop full of memorabilia.

About Us

Founded in 1968 and opened to the public in 1980, the Brisbane Tramway Museum was born from a desire to preserve Brisbane’s tramway legacy. Nowadays, it operates as a not-for-profit, volunteer-run institution driven by education, preservation, and public engagement.

The Museum is located at 50 Tramway Street, Ferny Grove, next door to the Bowls Club.
